I bring almost two decades of law enforcement experience serving the communities and citizens of North Carolina. Throughout my career I have worked closely with the court system, attorneys, victims, and families gaining firsthand knowledge of both civil and criminal court procedures. My experience has provided a working understanding of how the Clerk of Superior Court's Office supports citizens, law enforcement, and the justice system as a whole.
I have a deep appreciation for the vital role the Clerk of Superior Court's Office plays in the Pasquotank Community. The clerk's office serves as the backbone of the justice system-supporting citizens, assisting attorneys, working alongside law enforcement, and ensuring the courts function fairly, efficiently, and transparently. I understand the responsibility that comes with the role and the real impact it has on people's lives, from families seeking answers to professionals relying on accurate and timely court records. I know firsthand the importance of accuracy, efficiency, and compassion in court operations, especially when families are facing difficult and sensitive matters. I am personally committed to ensuring the clerk's office operates efficiently, transparently, and with respect for every individual it serves. My goal is to provide servant leadership and strengthen public trust in the courts.
For nearly two decades, Christopher Terry has served in a wide range of roles that shaped his approach to responsibility, accountability, and leadership. His career spans patrol, civil process, court operations, investigations, and school-based assignments, providing a broad and practical understanding of how the justice system functions day to day.
In addition to frontline service, Christopher has extensive experience in administrative and supervisory leadership. He believes effective leadership means leading by example, supporting those who serve the public, and ensuring procedures are followed with accuracy and consistency. That philosophy guides his approach to public service and decision-making.
Christopher’s experience has prepared him to lead with professionalism, fairness, and a clear understanding of the Clerk’s Office’s critical role in the community.
Christopher brings 17 years of law enforcement experience, serving with professionalism, integrity, and compassion. During his career, he served in supervisory roles as both Sergeant and Lieutenant, as well as in assignments including patrol deputy, investigator, civil deputy, and school resource officer.
As a school resource officer, he was entrusted with protecting children, supporting families, and building strong relationships within local schools. Across all assignments, his focus remained the same: serving people with fairness, respect, and calm leadership.
Christopher has been recognized for his leadership and service, including being voted by the community as the Albemarle Area’s 2021 Best Police Officer. He is also a recipient of the FBI-LEEDA Leadership Trilogy Award and the State of North Carolina’s Advanced Law Enforcement Professional Award.
These recognitions reflect a career grounded in accountability, professionalism, and a commitment to serving others.
Christopher’s professional experiences have prepared him to serve as Clerk of Superior Court with integrity, compassion, and respect for the citizens and families of Pasquotank County.
